What's Really Coming for Diablo II: Resurrected at BlizzCon 2026? Separating the Leaks from the Wishlist

Post by d2rmarketplaceadmin »

BlizzCon 2026 runs Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and the Diablo II: Resurrected community has spent the last two weeks passing around a detailed "leak" of what's supposedly coming. Here's what's actually circulating, where it came from, and how much of it deserves to be believed.

It's also important to note that the price of JAH and BER runes have traded significantly higher on trading site "Traderie" as of 1 month ago.

The Leak Itself

The most detailed version of the leak showed up on the official Blizzard forums, in a thread called "Any wildest bets for Blizzcon?". What started as a casual wishlist thread turned into something more specific when a user posted a "Summary of Leaks" table, attributed to the same leaker who reportedly leaked Warlock screenshots ahead of the Reign of the Warlock DLC earlier this year. The table claims:

Druid shape-shifting — Werewolf and Werebear forms would be able to use Teleport directly, without shifting back to human form first.

Druid elemental rework — Twister would fire continuously in a 200-degree arc instead of scattering randomly, and Tornado would add lightning damage scaled to Hurricane's radius.

Druid summoning rework — Summon Grizzly would gain up to an 80% Crushing Blow chance scaling with the Summoning skill, shifting Bear Druids from minion-spam toward single-target boss damage.

Paladin Blessed Hammer rework — Hammers would travel in a straight line before curving into their spiral path, supposedly under the internal code name "Projectile-to-Spiral."

Paladin Vengeance rework — Direction unclear, but said to add extra status effects to enemies hit.

An Enigma nerf — Removing the runeword's +2 to All Skills, to cut down on how universal it is across builds.

Content expansion — A new Act 4 questline (addressing how short the act has always felt) and a full new Act 6.

The thread's original poster says this is "highly credible in Korean/Russian communities, though unconfirmed officially" — which is a pretty honest way of putting it: this is a translated, secondhand rumor, not a leaked document or screenshot.

What the Community Actually Thinks

Reaction on the forums was split roughly into three camps. Some players are excited, particularly about the Druid changes — several posters said wind-damage Tornado always felt like it should deal lightning damage thematically, and that Teleporting Werebears would fix years of clunky animal-form navigation. Others pointed out the balance math doesn't add up: with most endgame characters already sitting around +15 to all skills from other gear, losing Enigma's +2 is a rounding error, not a real nerf, and wouldn't touch the runeword's actual selling points (fast run/walk and teleport mobility). A third group was openly skeptical of the whole packet, with one reply summing it up as "just a plausible wishlist... doesn't become a leak merely because somebody puts bullet points around it" — and pointing out that Blizzard's own published BlizzCon schedule gives D2R only about 45 minutes of panel time, with the bulk of Diablo's convention presence going to Diablo Immortal.

Separately, there's genuine, harder evidence that something is moving: community build-watchers have spotted a newer, unreleased D2R build (3.3.94216) sitting in Blizzard's restricted "Vendor 2" testing channel — the same channel used to stage Patch 3.2 before it went to the public test realm earlier this year. That's a real, verifiable signal that another patch or PTR may be in the pipeline. It is not, however, confirmation of Act 6, a Druid rework, or an Enigma nerf. This build watch, along with a healthy dose of skepticism toward the Act 6 claims, is laid out well in "Diablo 2 Gets a Mysterious New Build Before BlizzCon — But the Big 'Leak' Looks Very Shaky" (Diablo news and guides, Sept 3, 2026).

The Context That Makes People Want to Believe It

It's worth noting why this leak is landing as plausibly as it is. 2026 is Diablo's 30th anniversary, and Blizzard has already shown more willingness to touch D2R than anyone expected: Reign of the Warlock shipped on February 11 as the game's first new class in roughly 25 years, alongside a tease that BlizzCon would make players "freak out" (covered in wccftech's report on the Warlock reveal). Patch 3.3 buffed a batch of forgotten Uniques and Sets ahead of Season 15 (which launched August 22), and speculation about a D2R expansion — possibly built around Act 6 and even a fan-favorite unofficial name like "Diablo II Salvation" — has been floating around since at least D2R's 25th-anniversary teasers in late 2025. That track record is exactly why an ambitious leak spreads instead of getting laughed out of the thread — but a plausible-sounding history isn't the same as confirmation.

Conclusion

Treat this one as a wishlist wearing a leak's clothing. The specific claims — Act 6, the Blessed Hammer and Vengeance reworks, the Enigma nerf — come from an unverifiable secondhand source with no screenshots, code strings, or datamined assets attached, and several of the "leaked" ideas are things this community has been requesting for years, which is itself a reason for suspicion. The one piece of real, checkable evidence — a new unreleased build sitting in Blizzard's testing pipeline — only tells us a patch or PTR is probably coming, not what's in it. Given that D2R's official BlizzCon panel time is reportedly limited compared to Diablo Immortal's, the realistic expectation is a smaller announcement (a PTR/Season 16 update, maybe some quality-of-life or balance news) rather than a full Act 6 expansion. We'll know for certain once BlizzCon's Diablo panels air on September 12–13.
